Youth Comedy Programs

Summer Comedy Workshops for Teens (Online)

 

The Comedy Project Training Center is excited to introduce online comedy experiences for teens! In these virtual workshops, high schoolers will work with professional teaching artists over the course of a week to develop their comedic skills.

Students entering grades 9th-12th are welcome to participate in just one or both of the comedy workshops taking place the week of July 20th-July 24th, 2020. Students who sign up for both workshops at the same time save $20 off registration.

Workshop 1: Sketch Comedy Writing and Performance

  • July 20th-July 24th; 1pm-2pm
  • Live Online Classes delivered through Zoom on Monday, Wednesday, Friday 
  • Independent Work and Optional Instructor Office Hours Tuesday and Thursday
  • Cost: $60

In this workshop students will produce a virtual sketch comedy show from brainstorming to writing to performing! Families and friends will be invited to tune in to the final performance at the end of the week, and students can use their original sketches to build their portfolios.

Workshop 2: Creating a Comedic Character

  • July 20th-July 24th; 3pm-4pm
  • Live Online Classes delivered through Zoom on Monday, Wednesday, Friday 
  • Independent Work and Optional Instructor Office Hours Tuesday and Thursday
  • Cost: $60

In this workshop students will work on developing comedic characters through improv and writing exercises with a culminating performance on Friday. Families and friends will be invited to tune in to the final character showcase at the end of the week.

Instructor: Sidney Anderson

Technology Requirements: These classes will be delivered through Zoom and make use of Google classrooms. It is recommended that the student have access to reliable internet.
