Finding Your POV: Improv to Solo Character Workshop

The Comedy Project Training Center Program is excited to welcome guest instructor, Maria Konopken for a (virtual) solo character workshop!

About the Workshop: Having a strong character point of view helps bring your piece to life and connects you with your audience. This virtual workshop will have you finding and developing strong solo characters through improv and writing exercises while building your own creative voice.

This workshop is best suited for participants with some improv or performance training or experience.

About the Instructor: Maria Konopken is a native to the beautiful city of Phoenix, Arizona, and is a performer, writer, producer, and director in Chicago. She is a graduate of iO Chicago, Torch Theatre, and Annoyance Theatre, and a three time ALTA Award nominee for her Solo Show, My Body is Perfect, Storytelling, and Migdalia Cruz Mentorship Award. Maria performs as a storyteller, and poet throughout the country, as well as with Matt Damon Improv, and the show, Burlesque is More. She is also a co –producer of the web series, Pre-Existing, and a co-writer/co-star/co-director of the web series, In-Diana: a workplace comedy.

Date: Saturday, February 6th: 1pm-3:30pm EST.
