Description

Kids Comedy Camp is a four day afternoon program for youth entering the 5th-8th grades. Join us at The Comedy Project theater to learn and develop comedic skills through improvisation, story-telling, comedy writing and stage-acting activities! 

Lead by professional performers and teachers, students spend each afternoon rotating through different comedy blocks while finding their own comedic voice. 

The camp culminates with a group performance on Thursday evening for friends and family.

(Optional 5pm-5:30pm Games and Hangout Time Monday through Wednesday)

Camp Schedule

Improvisation (1-3pm): Explore what can happen in unscripted theater! During the improvisation block, campers will play games that help them think on their feet, build confidence, and let their unique personality shine. There will be lots of laughs along the way as we make things up on the spot! 

Story-Telling and Comedy Writing (3-4pm): Everyone has a story to tell and we want to hear yours! In this block, campers will get to develop their own comedic style and share what they think is funny about the world through guided writing and story-telling activities. 

Comedy Acting and Performance Skills (4-5pm): Lights, Camera, Action!  Campers will work on their comedic timing and develop stage presence in this block. Through theater games and working with scripts, campers get a taste for the stage!

Games and Hang Out (Optional 5-5:30pm) Want more time to socialize? Need some extra time before pickup?  From 5-5:30 we’ll put out some board games, put on some videos and let the campers hangout before calling it a day.

Camp comes to an exciting conclusion on Thursday afternoon with a performance for friends and family from 5-6pm showcasing the new comedy skills polished throughout the week!
